TNB Commentaries 029: My Cousin Vinny

lfPlease turn off your cellphones and come along as we head way down south, just across the boarder to hunt a sweet, harmless, leaf eatin’, doe eyed little deer.

For our 29th commentary, we head all the way back to 1992 for some legal drama starring Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei, Ralph Macchio, & the greatly underrated Fred Gwynne.

We talk about the proposed sequel movie and why it DIDN’T happen, the sequel that DID happen, praise some high caliber acting, gush about a childhood love of Britcoms, and fall in love all over again with a classic of 90’s cinema.

Also, in our wrap up, we tease the rescheduled return of the greatest event in the history of man and Podcasting: B-MOVIE MARCH!!!

So don’t miss a minute, gang, as The Nerd Blitz Commentaries prepares to climb to new heights…and sink to depths uncharted?

Scooby-Doo And The Curse Of The 13th Ghost is now available!

From Warner Brothers Home Entertainment, Scooby-Doo And The Curse Of The 13th Ghost is available now on digital & DVD.

After just over 33 years, we now have the final story in the saga of The 13 Ghosts Of Scooby-Doo!
This is a movie I dreamt of for years and never thought it would happen, and you guys have absolutely no clue how excited I am that it does.

This one is a curious case too because WB has released a ton of clips, teasers, and scenes from it.
Which makes me wonder if they’re testing something out.
Maybe to see how wide this goes/how much attention they can get, if they can get more than just the hardcore fans interested, maybe they are wondering about what future movies could/should be, or some combination of the 3.

Either way, I really hope you guys check this movie out, gang.
I’ll definitely be reviewing this in an upcoming episode and I would love to talk with some of you about it.

Episode 071: Yeah

In this episode, the boys are talking long cancelled TV shows, a movie franchise that, against all odds, just won’t end, & a dude what caught the dead.

Doom is pissy cause a certain Demon of Death Valley got on the Twitter & Fitz is bewildered that some loser memorized the opening of a TV show.

One bitches, one suffers, pop culture is grilled, projections are made, souls are crushed, and fun is had…hopefully by you, so listen to this merry madness and tell your friends.

Enjoy!

Scooby-Doo And The Curse Of The 13th Ghost Is The Next DTV Movie!

Warner Brothers Home Entertainment has detailed, via Collider, the next Direct-To-Video Scooby-Doo movie, and it’s going to be a doozy!

Basically, it’s going to be the series finale of The 13 Ghosts Of Scooby-Doo.
For those that don’t know what that is, 13 Ghosts was the 1985 Scooby-Doo series that saw Scooby, Shaggy, and Daphne traveling the globe with Scrappy and a new character, Flim-Flam, recapturing ghosts and demons under the guidance of Vincent Van Ghoul, originally voiced by horror icon Vincent Price.

The series saw this new gang only capture 12 of the 13 ghosts and has left fans wondering for years if we would ever see a conclusion, and I’m happy to say WB has listened.
It’s cool to see that, seemingly, Flim-Flam is back, but I was hoping to see a return appearance from Scrappy as well.
Hopefully he is addressed in some way that’s not just a slam.

The official synopsis is:
After the Mystery Inc. gang goofed up a case and nabbed an innocent man, they’re forced into early retirement from crime solving. It’s not long however, before their old friend Vincent Van Ghoul needs help and pulls the team right back into action. The gang has unfinished business they must tend to, which involves catching a ghost that previously got away. It all happened one summer while Velma and Freddy where away at camp. Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and Daphne secretly hunted down 12 of the world’s spookiest ghosts but failed to catch the most evil one of them all…the 13th ghost.

Now the elusive spook is wreaking havoc. Vincent needs help having him captured and confined to the chest of demons, a box that contains the other 12 captured ghosts. With the 13th ghost still on the loose, the gang will have to come out of retirement and finish the job once and for all. The chest however, is now located somewhere in a remote village in the Himalayas. Determined to help Vincent, the gang sets out on one of their most thrilling adventures yet! Bundle up and get ready for the icy slopes of the Himalayan mountains, chilling car chases, crystal balls and spine-tingling spells in this terrifyingly fun original movie!

Featuring Frank Welker as Scooby & Fred, Grey Griffin as Daphne, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Kate Micucci as Velma, Maurice LaMarche as Vincent Van Ghoul.
Scooby-Doo And The Curse Of The 13th Ghost is available on DVD February 9th 2019.

TNB Commentaries 025: Evil Dead 2 – Dead By Dawn

evildead2Please turn off your cellphones and get ready to head back to the cabin in the woods and read from the good bad book.

For our 25th commentary, we jump in the classic and drive back to 1987 for this brilliant sequel starring the legendarily groovy Bruce Campbell, Dan Hicks, Kassie DePaiva (née Wesley), & Richard Domeier fighting deadites, possessed hands, and rockin’ a chainsaw.

Fitz is brought down by the real world, Doom sings…A LOT, they do an update on the whole Re-Animator/Army Of Darkness crossover comic situation, also Fitty Man tries to down play the wackiness of Indiana Jones movies!

Hope you enjoy it, gang!
