Episode 096: Everyone’s Favorite Goofy Jag-Offs

5U7jWeZpjeCPFfoC3jS6Fj

In this episode, the slow trudge to episode 100 (can you hear the cow bells ringing!?) continues as the fellas tag up on some recent Twitter darkness and revisit some classic dark jokes from the show itself while doing what they do best…you know what we do best, right?

Doom brings an adorable Joke Corner that features an adorable little story that will warm your heart to the core and then we dive deep into our recent book readings featuring Wars in the Star, Men that are X’s, untalking dogs, Robuts, our reading habits, and that leads us to talking about a certain dream one of us has.

Fitz starts us on the path to giving some dumbass Brothers another lashing cause they’re STILL doing stupid shit, we talk more about the final season on Star Wars The Clone Wars, and we figure out that Peter Jackson & Clive Barker are pretty much related, and then we talk about potential Patreon content in this most recent episode of your favorite goofy jag-offs!

Nobody has ever said “What A Long Strange Trip It’s Been”, Right?

Seriously, I just coined that phrase right?

7 years ago today I was bored on a car ride and made this dipshit little video.
https://youtu.be/OBrVxZaKcT4
If you had told me all the shit that would follow I probably would have said “AHHHH, WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU!?!?” mostly cause I can’t remember if I knew you way back then.

Over the course of the last 7 years everything has changed, for me personally and for the world at large.
In that time, I’ve gone from decidedly friendless, but I’ve made and lost quite a few folks that I thought were friends, I’ve said goodbye to family members, and I’ve watched things on this planet take dangerous turns.
Sometimes, it truly does seems like we live in the darkest of all possible worlds.

But for these last 7 years, to paraphrase Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, “I have tried, Ringo, I’ve tried real hard to be a shepard.”
I’ve spent hours writing, talking, recording, editing, worrying, and doubting myself, alone and with good Ol Fitz (& others), because the world (and life in general) can be a harsh, unrelenting, shitty place and it has knocked me and many others that I know and care for on our asses and dared us to stay there.
But most people, when they get knocked down like that, go looking for something to make them feel better.

5 and a half years ago, I wrote a piece for my TS-D/JA Productions blog titled Then Why Do It?, in which I explain why I kept going.
But just incase you don’t want to reread it, I will reiterate here just exactly why.
When you hear from somebody that they have had a shitty day and were the lowest they have been in a while, but that all changed because they read a dumb little book review I wrote and could feel my passion oozing through their screen, or they listened to a podcast and we made a joke that made them laugh for the first time in days, or they watched or heard a skit we put out somewhere and it gave them a little boost…that shit is powerful, man!

Selfishly, hearing shit like that pulls me up, even if only a little bit, from whatever I’m going through.
But taking that out of it, and to go back to what I used to say when I wrapped up almost every post on the old site, the world can be a terrible place so do whatever you can to change that, no matter how many people that hits.
I’ll keep trying to improve the day of the 50-60 people that regularly listen to the pod or read this site.

Alright, gang, WHORE TIME!

Episode 095.5: No Fat On This Bone

UntitledIn this extra special .5 episode, we gather together to say goodbye…again…for the third, and most likely final time…we think, probably…to a friend that set us on the course to coming together as concluded, The Clone Wars have!

We dive in deep on this discussion of the final season, arc, and episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, chart the growth and change of the series and particularly the journey of the, once hated and now beloved, former padawan Ahsoka Tano and her conclusion of this long imagined tale of war.

It hit Doom in a weird way he never expected and Fitz is super satisfied by this tale that was told over 133 spectacular episodes, encompassing 6 seasons and a movie, we try to figure out if Cheep is Chopper, ponder if we’ll see the 30 odd episodes that were left unmade, and just gush about an overall enjoyable experience.
Strap in and enjoy, gang, and may the force be with you…always…

Episode 095: A Pretty Glorious Mullet

mulletIn this episode, grab a shovel and join in as one of the fellas tries to dig himself out of a hole with a haircut as the other is still backfilling that sum bitch with a vengeance, all while playing the World’s Favorite Game “I’m Old And Things Were Better In My Day”!

A Joke Corner that was teased long ago leads to a discussion of childhoods, upbringing, and the exponential growth of technological communication, before we dive into the latest and not so greatest of news and happenings in that magical and color filled Marvel universe.

We wrap up this grumpy old man fest by talking about a grumpy old man show set in the Star Trek universe, then we bring this ep, full of never before spoken sentences, to a close by teasing what our next couple of shows may stuff in your pod stockings, so buckle up, gang, as the careening toward Ep 100 has officially begun to kick into high gear!

Episode 094: Brian Quinn Presents TNB Giant Size Annual #4: Too Stupid To Quit

year4In this episode, we are celebrating four years of the continuing conversation that is the one and only Nerd Blitz, in the only way we know how: swearing a lot, mocking each other, and talking in deeper detail about Star Wars than most other people would ever find normal or acceptable.

We tag up on all of our regular segments as Doom brings a revelatory Joke Corner that explains his crazy in a big bad way, Fitz drops a Pimp Spot that generates more conversation than any previous installment of that segment, Doom saw a movie that will make a motherlover weepy, and then we welcome a big time Hollywood writer / producer guest!

For some weird reason we act all coy about it, but Andy Secunda from Star Trek The Next Conversation drops by and spends an hour talking with Doom about how to watch The Clone Wars, how much he LOOOOVES a certain host of this show, how some ones work can create a nebulous and hard to define connection with an audience, and more!

After Andy leaves, we finally discuss a long teased Twitter topic, dive deeper into Rise Of Skywalker, and explain in a Fuck This Shit how, due to a miscommunication and tech Monkeys sleeping on the job, the whole damn show just about came crashing down the day before Zombies, Bunnies, and Eggs all celebrated their big special day!

In all seriousness, we want to thank Andy for taking the time to be a part of this special episode, we want to thank each and every one of you for listening, whether from the beginning or since last week, we are incredibly appreciative that you guys still find us and our goofiness entertaining in any way at all.

So, Knights Of Nerd Blitz-Dom, grab some snacks, GATHER! and stand by for a celebration of all we have done in these last 4 years!
